Yet another blog experiment

Giving Linux a try

I got a new computer a couple weeks back (had fun at Frys!) and part of that was a new 200GB drive.  So I split it up into 3 partitions.  One for windows, one for my data, and one for installing Linux.  During school I used Knoppix to learn a bit about Unix and I liked using something new, so this seemed like a great way to get more into it.  I’m using Ubuntu (Edgy Eft) and have finally got it installed.  It was really easy except for the partitioning.  Let’s just say I’m pretty good at partitioning my drive and installing both Windows and Ubuntu.  Ah well, it’s all working now.  As a matter of fact this post is being written while booted in Ubuntu.  The change hasn’t been all that dramatic as of yet.  I’m already using Firefox on both as well as Open Office.  I just need to get used to the administration part of it.
